Several years ago, I started compiling a list of content examples that I liked.
I had no particular reason for doing so to start with; they were simply content pieces that I enjoyed reading.
Yet, the more my collection grew, the more the outlines of truly original content became defined.
And, as the list reached 200 examples, it was time to define it even further.
Carefully studying each example, developing a methodology, and devising a clean-cut structure became a labor of love.
And I'm very glad to share it with you today.
Criteria for Content Examples
Here’s how the originality of each content piece was determined:
The “stand out from the crowd” factor. Each example should cover a given topic with a high level of detail and in a way that hasn’t been done before.
Original data. If an example showcases any data, it should come from a unique resource, e.g., a brand’s own data study, report, survey, or from a credible source specializing in the given topic (e.g., a content lead sharing campaign data for a case study).
Peer-reviewed information. If the information is sensitive (e.g., covers a healthcare-related topic), it should contain peer reviews from certified specialists.
Invented concepts. Some content pieces on the list present an original concept that hasn’t been discussed before.
Creative visualization. Videos and interactive content are shared only if they showcase information in a unique way, covering a given topic from a creative angle.
Credibility and authority. If a content piece is a personal or third-person narrative, it should come from an expert who’s well-known in their field and has the authority and expertise to talk about a given topic.
Clear value. Every example should answer a specific intent and deliver clear value to the reader.
Following these criteria, I collected 200 original content examples, which I then structured using the following methodology.
What’s Inside?
Under each example, you will find:
Company name
Company type (e.g., B2B)
Title
Page URL
Short description
Content format
We kept things simple to avoid overwhelming you.
